Well, Irene finally managed to pull off CAT 1 status.
Almost hard to imagine after a week of being uncoupled from top to bottom.
Last Vortex had an extrapolated MCP of 989mb.
And Max FLT Level Winds of 85kts E Quad at 2242Z.
This is with an open Eyewall.
