NHC isn't seeing any rapid development for these systems right now. The one over the Caribean looks to be forming better convection this morning, but it's still a long way off (hopefully). SAL isn't very strong in the atlantic, but it covers a very broad area. It might inhibit some development. Unfortunately none of the SAL reaches the Caribean, so if and when the winds become favorable, I wouldn't be surprised to see that system form a TD. The water down there is quite warm, with deep 26C isotherms. It's capable of supporting a major storm...at least the Gulf is cool now, and hopefully will remain so. --RC P.S. - thx for the new thread |
