That was documented by the NHC discussion:

"5 AM EDT SUN JUL 17 2005

...IT IS POSSIBLE THAT EMILY REACHED CATEGORY FIVE INTENSITY BRIEFLY AROUND 03Z..."

But it was inbetween advisories and they did not officially change Emily to Cat 5.
