Just in theory - could that happen?

One of yesterday's NHC maps had Noel possibly hitting Greenland still as a hurricane. Is that really possible?! Could a hurricane really make landfall as far north as Greenland? If not, has one ever made landfall in Newfoundland? What is the northernmost landfall ever recorded for a hurricane?
