It's fairly highly populated south of the landfall point, there is a large Nuclear Power Station at the projected landfall point.
Karl was forecast to be only a cat one two days ago or so, which means it's likely a lot of Mexicans near there are going to be caught completely off guard. The only thing comparable to this in the US recently was Charley.
In short an EOC nightmare.
