These SFMR surface wind readings at or above Cat 3 are not flagged for rain contamination ![]() The wind field is likely undergoing some changes with height in response to interacting with the upper-level low to Lowell's north-northwest. Even if these winds are not occurring sustained at sea-level (SFMR and reduction ratio suggests that they may be), they are likely still occurring at higher elevations and could pose a very serious wind damage and life-safety risk on the higher elevations of the Hawaiian islands.
