Other Areas of Interest

Tropical wave near 8.5N 45W at 09/13Z has good convection and already shows signs of outflow in the northwest quad. System should be moving slowly west to west northwest into a shear-free area for the next few days. Although low in latitude, this system does have some potential for additional development.

Large tropical low on the African continent near 12N 2W at 09/12Z should move off the continent into the far eastern Atlantic Monday evening. This could become the next significant system in the basin - in about a week. Certainly something to keep a casual eye on.

Added: Tropical wave that came off the African continent yesterday has held together rather well and has a hint of circulation near 9.5N 20.5W at 09/18Z. Another one to watch .
Cheers

The above metioned wave at 12N 2W @ 09/12Z is pushing off the African coast now and still looks healthy, for now...

The wave near the African coast is already being listed as a special feature on the TWD. Looks a little less impressive now than this morning, though.

Looking at the present steering currents, anything that forms near Puerto Rico or North of the Lesser Antilles, will likely not affect folks on the Eastern seaboard, except Bermuda as the Steering Current shows(Below). The African wave will likely move to the west and if it ends up in the Carribean you just never know. One things for sure, things are cooking up and I don't like it.
