This link will take you to a dynamic mapping interface for all hurricanes that have achieved catagory 5 status from 1851 to 2004.

Questions we have had so far:

Q: 155 mph winds are 1 mph short of Cat5
A: The NHC reports wind speed in knots. We convert this to mph and round to the nearest mph.

Q: Andrew(1992) was upgraded to a Cat5 at landfall, this isn't in the map
A: While this storm was reclassified, the NHC has not updated the official track data. We could easily edit this data, but feel our manipulation of the official data eleminates the integrity of the entire data set.

Note: This is NOT an official page. It is run by weather hobbyists and should not be used as a replacement for official sources.
