Gyre?

It looks to me like there is a very large and persistent low near Europe that is drawing Gordon to the east. Indeed the forecast track of the storm goes right over a current "feeder band"" of the low. Is this an example of a gyre? And if so that does this mean for storms in the basin for the not-too-distant future?
