The History of Puerto Rico seeing hurricanes is a long one

http://www.srh.noaa.gov/sju/hrcnhist.html

As all can see in the link Puerto Rico has been visited many times and also many nearmisses haved occured.I can say that Puerto Rico has been with luck because the position that we are in the caribbean at hurricane alley makes this island a continued target but in many seasons some factors come into play and deviate the systems away however in other occasions those same factors are not there with the luck over and BANG landfalls will happen.Let's see how the factors play this season for threats to be common for the islands or many fish hurricanes are the norm.

Chances are that if we get a hurricane close to miami puerto rico will probally get hit quite hard. So there is a very good chance that puerto rico will get hit. Although hurricanes can change direction very fast. We will just have to wait and see.

In only one occasion in 1928 a cat 5 cane hitted PR and later hitted Florida but for the most part Puerto Rico has not been hit and those later go to Miami as the best example is Andrew which moved well away from not only PR but from the Leewards and formed well north of PR and then slammed South Florida.
