Hurricane Norbert

At 04/12Z, Hurricane Norbert was located about 160 miles south of the southern tip of the Baja with winds of 70 knots. Movement is to the northwest and a general northwest to north northwest movement with gradual weakening is likely over the next five days. Although Norbert is expected to remain offshore and eventually become a remnant low, it is somewhat unusual to see southwest Arizona and southern California in the cone. From the NHC:

"Moisture indirectly related to Norbert being pulled northward
around the eastern side of the cyclone's large circulation is
expected to spread across northern Mexico and into the southwestern
United States during the next few days. This could result in heavy
rains and life-threatening flash flooding in these areas."
