Convection has increased this afternoon southwest of Jamaica as a westward moving tropical wave interacts with an upper level low pressure system. The system is also passing through a shear zone which makes any near-term development quite unlikely. Upper level conditions should improve a bit by Sunday afternoon as the wave moves west northwestward into an area of lower shear.
