eom. http://www.nrlmry.navy.mil/tc-bin/tc_hom...es&DISPLAY= Looking fairly organized. I guess the season is now kicking into high gear, much like Dr. Gray was forecasting with September really starting up big time. |

From NHC TWO: "SATELLITE IMAGES AND SURFACE REPORTS INDICATE THAT A WELL-ORGANIZED TROPICAL WAVE ACCOMPANIED BY A SURFACE LOW PRESSURE HAS MOVED OFF THE COAST OF AFRICA AND IS NOW LOCATED ABOUT 450 MILES SOUTHEAST OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS. THIS SYSTEM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME A TROPICAL DEPRESSION AT ANY TIME TODAY OR MONDAY AS IT MOVES TOWARD THE WEST AT 15 MPH. " |

Appreciate the folks that are keeping an eye on these two tropical waves. Invest 90L was near 13N 46W at 28/15Z and may be developing a circulation center at about a degree further north. This system has good structure and the potential to become a Tropical Depression in the next day or two. Invest 91L is in the far eastern Atlantic just off the African west coast near 9N 19W at 28/15Z. This wave has excellent structure and despite the far eastern location, it could become a Tropical Depression at any time in the next 24 hours. Both waves are moving westward. Cheers, ED |
