Stars and ratings

Is it possible to change the rating system, so that instead of rating a user, the number of stars a user has depends on how many posts that user has made?

Re: Stars and ratings

Jamiewx,

I know ED is in discussions with John & Mike regarding the rating system. I'm not certain what will come of it, but it may be scrapped altogether.

As far as number of posts are concerned, that's what the "user status" or whatever it's called, is for. The more posts one makes, the 'user status' changes (check out the explanation in the FAQ), to such things as verified CFHC user to storm tracker, to storm chaser, etc.

Personally I don't put any stock in the "rate this user" options. I don't really care what the other posters think of me, and neither do Ed, John or Mike. However, since someone is obviously doing something to lower everybody's ratings, maybe it is time for this option to be scrapped.

Ed may be posting about this as I write this, so I'll reserve judgement until I speak with him or see a post addressing this.

Cheers,

LI Phil

What exactly is the cutoff for the different levels? It can't be based on posts, as someone with more and less posts than me have a "Weather Guru" rating and I am a "Weather Hobbyist." It really doesn't matter, but I am curious....

So B.C. Francis and Terra should be Guru's then, perhaps there is a problem, Mike will probably notice this thread and check it out.

Re: Stars and ratings

Issue was we misspelled hobbyist in the titles, fixed it, but it left everyone already with the misspelling still at hobbiest. New people got the correct term.

I manually fixed all with the misspelling last night, but it may not corect itself until the next teir. PM me if this is a big deal for you and I can fix it, otherwise when you reach the next level (ding) it should now work.

Re: Stars and ratings

Thanks Mike C. It really isn`t a big deal at all. It just got my interest when Terra made her post about the differences in some of the members titles with the same amount of posts. The posts that our members make is what counts in my books.I personally don`t care what your title is unless your one of the MOD`s . Weather information is what its all about, plain and simple.........Back to the tropics....Weatherchef
