New Feature User Lat/Long Map

Registered users can now set their location on the map, this will show in the profile and when posts are made.

In the future this information will allow us to send alerts and highlight those that are in a projected path of a tropical system. Also this will soon be integrated with the maps and coordinates here to allow you to see where people are in regards to a system.

It is completely optional.

You can set it by clicking on My Settings at the top and then the edit link next to map location.

Re: New Feature User Lat/Long Map

Now the user locations show up in the storm Google Map plot if you zoom in to a certain level or closer.

More to come later.

This is a real nice add on indeed. I am sure it will be a great asset to users "under the gun" later down the road as well as helping others learn various locations also.

Thanks, Mike!

Hopefully I'll have no more Hazels or Frans to come through my neck of the woods.

Decimal place, decimal place?
I don't need no stinking decimal place!
But thanks...

UhhhUh! Now I feel COOL. Got myself a new tag.

All kidding aside. This is cool, and fun to see who is in your general area. Thanks Guys. ( Just HAD to post to see mine!)

Re: New Feature User Lat/Long Map

Nifty feature. A graphical representation to go along with numerical lat/lon is a nice touch.
