Sahara Dust

A lot is being made of the current dust coming off Africa.This pic taken August 1st 2005,and if you remember 2005 was the busiest season on record.

Yes, I remember there being a lot of dust in 2005. While there were a ton of storms that season, there was only weak activity out in the main development region between the islands and Africa. Most storms did not get going until waves moved closer to home (Katrina/Rita in the Bahamas, e.g.). There was also plenty of action farther north in the Atlantic.
