Vero Beach here. some good rain bands this morning....though not raining as of 0800.
some gusty winds....we're seeing 20-25MPH periods. Otherwise just breezy it "feels" like the storm is coming.
we're looking forward to a messy day here with heavy rain, strong, gusty winds but no major activations (shelters, school closings, etc) however that can change. I have the Red Cross regional call at 10...we'll see if we have any changes. i'll report back as long as we have power.

Isaac is strengthening and the rain area is expanding rapidly over the lower half of the peninsula. Here in northern Manatee it is now light rain and frisky winds, but radar indicates heavier rain and bands of hard rain are closing in. Depending on the north to west ratio of the motion of the storm and the strength, this could go on for quite a while. I have not seen a storm so far away generate so much weather since Donna in 1960, and I have experienced more than a few. If this were better organized ....

It's perfect here...not a cloud in the sky...Warm Springs, GA...northeast breeze and dew points in the low 60s...nice by August standards! Back to reality! I finally got my grlevelx3 radar software up and running...the center is definitely left of forecast track and likely not to cross the Florida Keys other than maybe Dry Tortugas (grew up down there in both Key West and Marathon). Not much of anything on the south half of the circulation. I have saw tweets out of the NWSFO there that wind gusts are 70 mph.

A few blustery rain bands here in Plant City, but we seem to have been missed by the stronger weather in the 2 bands that have gone through. Almost dead calm right now. Headed to a Tea Party Rally (never been and I am curious) so I am hoping the local weather holds for a bit :-)

Worst of it was around 8AM in my area (NW of Ft Laud, near Coral Springs). Had some winds whipping around, maybe gusting to 35-40 mph and HARD rain. After that the rest of the day was just breezy 25-30 mph winds with off and on rain, mostly light to moderate. Actually catching a flight out FLL now and its just overcast with sprinkles.

Its beautiful here in Panama City, Fl. Other than our normal daily rain showers we had yesterday, its been sunny. Today, the humidity has been rather low and the temperatures perfect. its almost errie - Is this what they mean by "the calm before the storm?"

Southeast Cape Coral FL

Winds out of the NE at about 15-20; gusts low 30s. Light rain.

We've had very little precip throughout the day and only moderate winds.
Thankful this one will pass well to our west; our prayers to our neighbors along the Northern Gulf.

New Smyrna Beach (south of Daytona)

A few squalls brought us some short episodes of heavy rain, that's it. No wonder our TS watch has been canceled.

Good luck to all

Worst squall of the day just went through Boca Raton. I would guess 50 mph. Tornado warning 10 miles north of my house.

I can not believe how it is right now outside, this is by far the worst TS I have ever experienced.Someone near me back me up.This system should not be this bad for me right now.It is so bad right now that it feels like a strong hurricane here on the beach. No BS,it is bad.

Well its 1:36 am. Im on the edge of this feeder band wroking up through jupiter, hobe sound, out west palm city.
The band apeears to making it way towards me i can see it just over the river, the clouds are pratically on the ground and moving fast almost funnel like but sideways. There is lots of lighting that is so high in the sky, then followed by thunder 2 rumbles a minute, beautifull light show. At about 1:00 am as the edge of the band aproached the wind went dead and now for the last half hour the clouds are just training over head in an arch across town, and winds shift from east to west then back east at like 5 miles an hour, this is much diffrent then the 30+ we have been getting here all day.

Went out on patrol at about 2:45am. Heavy Rain and Winds f
gusting to about 45mph then. Now winds are calm and the rain is light/moderate. Plenty of local street flooding, no signs of debris yet.

I manged to fly out yesterday but my wife is reporting from Coral Springs that today is worst then Sunday: lots of heavy rain, strong gusty winds, etc. However its really the rain, the lake in our backyard has come up maybe 3 feet over the last 24/36 hours, so the 15" of rain I've see estimated seems about right.
