At 500 AM AST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Ida was
located near latitude 24.3 North, longitude 48.0 West. The
depression is moving toward the west near 5 mph (7 km/h). A turn
toward the west-southwest and an increase in forward speed is
expected later today.

Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
