At 500 AM AST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ian was
located near latitude 24.0 North, longitude 51.7 West. Ian is moving
toward the north-northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). A faster
north-northwestward to northward motion is expected during the next
couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher
gusts. Some slight strengthening is forecast during the next 48
hours.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 230 miles (370 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
