An impressive tropical wave a few hundred miles SSE of the Cape Verde Islands, appears to look as if it may become the first named storm of the season.  Only time will tell on this one. Conditions are marginal for development at this time but as the wave moves into more favorable conditions development chances increase.

Hello All,
Well here we go. As of 5am this mourning we have TD just south of the Cape Verde Islands. Though this is many miles away from the U.S. its still something to watch finally. As for where its going and strength it should continue moving west and it is forcasted to become a Tropical Storm this afternoon. I will take a few hours to compile information on this new system and return later today with an update and forcast.
