DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ida was
located near latitude 19.9 North, longitude 46.0 West. Ida is moving
toward the east near 5 mph (7 km/h). A gradual turn toward the
northeast and north should occur tomorrow, followed by a turn toward
the northwest on Friday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km)
primarily to the southeast of the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
