Other Tropical Features

Two additional areas not yet identified by NHC:
A well-formed but convection-sparce tropical low is located at 17.2N 29.2W at 03/15Z.
A disorganized but convectively active tropical wave is located at 8.9N 31.6W.

The southern wave may eventually turn into the closed low the GFS spins up ITVO Haiti around mid-Sept, strengthening it significantly by the 18th on a WNW track through the lower Florida Keys. Of course the projected location must be taken with a grain of salt 2 weeks out, but given near peak SST's, increased available moisture and generally a more favorable environment, the next tropical wave to make it across the open Atlantic may not struggle for nearly as long as 99L before undergoing significant tropical cyclogenesis.
