How does 2015 compare to 1977?

What do you think guys, is this season looking close to the 1977 season ?

I see almost no similarities between 1977 and 2015.

By this date in 1977, the Atlantic basin was only on its (correction) FIRST! named storm. However, it was a serious Cat 5, Anita (1977), whose name was actually retired in its aftermath.

By comparison, on this date, today, September 3, 2015, the Atlantic basin has seen six named storms, two hurricanes, and one major - a Cat 3 - Danny (2015).

Here is one rather stunning similarity:

Phillip Klotzbach: The globe remains (Named Tropical Cyclone)-free today. The last time that September 12 was free around the globe was 1977
