Dorian Conditions in Your Area
      #100518 - Mon Sep 02 2019 09:42 AM

This is the thread for posting your local observations about Dorian in your area.

Here in Orlando, it's pretty nice, but hot at the moment, with a very slight southwest breeze..

Absolutely gorgeous on Clearwater Beach right now. Looking like late Tuesday and early Wednesday is when we'd get any winds that make it to the west coast.

Conditions may be nice now, but if Dorian does make it further west, Orlando wise, we will see the result of paving over Central Florida. It won’t be so pretty then.

Wesley Chapel FL - just North of Tampa

Periods of heavy rain followed by sunshine. Area already flooded due to August rains.
2 inches of rain yesterday between 3:30 and 5:00 PM EST, rain caused 1 hour power outage in Lutz FL area

Another band came through at 12:00 PM EST, 0.63 inches in 10 minutes, large drops with not much wind velocity.

Just got our first real feeder band here in NW Broward. Conditions are overcast with fast moving bursts of rain (1.4" per hour). Winds are 12 gusting to 24 from the WNW. Pressure falling.

The setup across FL means the entire state is now getting swept with fast moving lines of strong storms. Many have the potential for embedded tornadoes.

Afternoon models are maintaining the offshore track tomorrow, some are closer than others to the coast, some make landfall in NC others do not. The wind-field of Dorian is expanding, so there may still be a lot of erosion along the coast and winds, and rain. 4-7 ft of storm surge in places is very possible.

Getting a little breezy is SW Seminole county. Rain showers moving quickly through and then sunshine. Only one house has boarded-up that I have seen.

I'm in Lakeland and we had some rain here this afternoon but not much. I've noticed in the last 30-40 minutes that the winds are picking up (not enough to blow my wig away, LOL...(and no, I don't wear a wig). However, I do not have a barometer so I wouldn't know the actual wind speeds or gusts. Everyone have a good night's sleep. :-) *anemometer*. Slaps forehead. I know the difference; the barometer is used to measure pressure.

Here in Ormond Beach we have had 2 rain bands rotate in over the last 90 minutes or so with brief bursts of rain and gusts estimated about 40 mph.

Actually saw the sun peak out from behind some fast moving clouds. Less then 1/2" of rain so far. I'd call it breezy and partly cloudy. The stronger cells in the rain bands seem to keep just missing my location.

Sunny and a bit breezy in Melbourne near I-95. We've had a couple of brief heavy rain/wind bands come through this morning but nothing for a while. Breeze is picking up a bit the last hour or so but not much.

We've had a steady 10 to 15 mph breeze today, just had a 28 mph gust with a line a rain that came through on Clearwater Beach at about 12:15 PM.

Mostly been a very nice day today, the breeze has been comfortable.

It’s gotten pretty breezy here in Fort Myers, with only the occasional rain band coming through.

Zephyrhills here. Have rain bands coming through. Gusty wind and rain. I feel bad for my low lying friends, they've already been flooded out with all the rain we've been having. Not going to be good if we get anything TS like.

Couple rain bands in north Melbourne (US1 and Pineda causway or thereabouts. Wind starting to pick up. Would be a normal day in Chicago without what we have offshore.

Wesley Chapel - starting to get gusts at 3 pm
weather sensor says high of 17 mph, but at it's height I'm supposed to multiply that by 2
Trees are moving quite a bit, so 34 mph seems reasonable.
Small shower around 2 pm. 0.32 inches.

I picked up some sandbags at our local park. Used them to reinforce my culvert.
Still trying to get over the flu, but the facility was closing today and the culvert was developing holes.

Not much happening in SW Seminole county. The worst weather was this morning with a good band that caused solid showers but little wind.

30 MPH steady during extreme outer rain band; otherwise it's about 15 to 20 MPH in between bands. Had about 1/4 inch of rain so far since last night (not much). I'm in San Antonio, FL which is about 30 miles NE of Tampa, FL.
