Area of Interest - Gaston
      #96515 - Sun Aug 21 2016 01:25 PM

At 21/15Z Invest 90L was located just off the west African coast near 12N 20W with winds of 20 knots and a pressure of 1009MB. Movement was to the west to west northwest at 15 knots and a general west northwest motion is likely for the next few days. Invest 90L is a medium-sized system with somewhat limited convection. SSTs are at 28C and windshear is light. Additional development is likely, however in a few days the system will encounter west northwesterly windshear which will hinder the development process. Eventual intensification to a hurricane is possible however the tropical cyclone is expected to remain at sea.

I saw the dropsonde from the Hurricane upgrade. Very interesting.
Free fall from approximately 48,000 feet. Nice nearly perfect Skew-T diagram.
