Cyclone Invest 96L Visible Sep 12 2018 1615z

A well-defined cyclone undergoing tropical transition (from a formerly non-tropical origin) in the north-central Atlantic is developing rapidly today and will likely be named as soon as this evening. The next name on the list in the Atlantic is Joyce.

This system is not to be confused with Invest 95L in the western Gulf.

Invest 96L will spin fish for a few days, but by the end of the week may need to be watched more closely, as steering flows, while relaxing along the east coast, are also both vigorous and very much in flux elsewhere in the Atlantic.

Title updated - Ciel

The cyclone being tracked as Invest 96L has continued to rapidly organize, and NHC intends to initiate advisories on Joyce, the tenth named storm of the 2018 Atlantic Hurricane Season, very soon. The title has been updated accordingly.

Joyce will likely spin fish, but might need to be watched closely later this week as steering currents over the Atlantic seem to be in flux.
