Tropical Storm Alpha Discusison
      #61341 - Sat Oct 22 2005 09:55 AM

To split off discussion of Alpha/TD#25 being drowned out by Wilma, this topic is for that.

TD#25 looks to head nroth, and probably will be alpha before land fall. It's likely that TD#25 will follow in Wilma's wake and turn out to sea.

Think there will be a Betta? Some season. Also, wasn't Allen the fifth lowest pressure with 899? Rita was 897 and Katrina was
902 from what I've read. But I keep seeing Katrina listed as fifth in places and I think she is sixth. Just for clarification. Wilma,
Gilbert, 1935 Hurricane, Rita, Allen, and then Katrina?

Here in Hispaniola we've been exeedingly lucky all season. Most systems dumped some rain on us, but really only formed and strenghtened further North. This time it seems we may be in for it with TD25.

I don't think they've updated Wilma's pressure to add.

Any thoughts on an interaction between TD25 and Wilma near the east coast of FL/Bahamas? I'd like to see a graphic of the tracks overlaid. Is this what they meant about a "unique" situation? As a friend just commented, Hollywood would make it into an end of the world superstorm movie....

Margie said this a.m.

Five weeks remain in the hurricane season. It is not unlikely we'll see a Beta (just hope they don't jump the gun like they did with Alpha).

Is this the concensus?
