Alberto is gone and all is well...for now..
      Fri Jun 16 2006 09:49 PM

Alberto has passed giving some of us some much needed rain.

There are a couple of waves that have been noticed but things should remain calm for a couple weeks

Right now the tropics are fairly disorganized, with the only real waves northeast of the Caribbean in a hostile environment too far north for this time of year, and another ragged wave east of the Caribbean, neither of which are worth even a graph at this point. However, if you must watch one, the one east of the Caribbean is the one to watch, but shear ahead of it is fairly brutal. Where it is now, however has less shear, but the system remains fairly disorganized. Sea surface temperatures are only marginal for development as well.

Enjoy the quiet time, as it could change fairly quick. But it appears this will be a slow week in the tropics again.

Alberto was a wake up excercise for us all. But I don't expect June to be like that again this year.
