Event '93 superstorm (by HanKFranK)
the 1993 winter was not particularly bad, or that memorable but for the intense storm of march 12-14 on the gulf and east coasts. the storm formed at the base of a very sharp late winter trough in the gulf, and deepened rapidly as it swept up the east coast on march 13. it's magnitude ranged from coastal flooding and tornadoes in florida, to record snowfalls from the florida panhandle up the appalachians, to record low pressures in several eastern cities. this storm is often referred to as the storm of the 20th century in the eastern u.s.
