Event hurricane hazel (by HanKFranK)
     this fast moving hurricane came ashore at little river inlet on the sc/nc border on this date in 1954; it had been forecast to stay out to sea. a category four hurricane, hazel left a trail of destruction through the caribbean, up the eastern seaboard, and into eastern canada.
