     Hurricane Emily became the second Category 4 hurricane of the month of July 2005, peaking on the 17th at the upper limit of category 4. It hit south of Cozumel on the 18th as a 4, crossing the Yucatan into the Gulf, and came ashore in northern Mexico on July 20 about 75 miles south of Brownsville as a cat 3. Emily caused mostly moderate damage like Dennis before it.
