Event storm #1 (by HanKFranK)
The earliest known U.S. tropical cyclone impact occurred on this date in 1952. An unnamed tropical storm that formed on February 2nd in the northwestern Caribbean crossed southern Florida with winds up to 60mph on the 3rd, becoming extratropical east of the Carolinas the next day. More of a novelty than anything else, this odd out-of-season storm is also the only known tropical storm to hit the U.S. as a tropical cyclone between December 1st and May 15th.
