DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 500 AM AST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Don was located near latitude 42.6 North, longitude 48.9 West. Don is moving toward the north-northeast near 16 mph (26 km/h). The storm should turn northeastward later today and east-northeastward on Monday. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher gusts. Further weakening is forecast, and Don is likely to lose tropical characteristics by early Monday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 993 mb (29.33 inches).
