DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Jose was located near latitude 36.0 North, longitude 50.9 West. Jose is moving toward the north-northeast near 23 mph (37 km/h), and this general motion with an increase in forward speed is expected through early Saturday. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast, and Jose is expected to become absorbed by Franklin tonight or early Saturday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches).
