DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Gert was located near latitude 28.2 North, longitude 54.9 West. Gert is stationary. A northward motion is expected to begin on Saturday and continue into Sunday. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast before Gert becomes absorbed by Idalia by early Monday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
