SUMMARY OF 500 PM EDT...2100 UTC...INFORMATION ---------------------------------------------- LOCATION...38.8N 75.0W ABOUT 35 MI...55 KM N OF OCEAN CITY MARYLAND ABOUT 10 MI...15 KM SW OF CAPE MAY NEW JERSEY MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...25 MPH...35 KM/H PRESENT MOVEMENT...NE OR 50 DEGREES AT 21 MPH...33 KM/H MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...1012 MB...29.89 INCHES WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- A Flood Watch is in effect for... * Portions of the Delmarva * Portions of Central and Southern New Jersey * Portions of Southeastern Pennsylvania DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 500 PM EDT (2100 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Chantal was located near latitude 38.8 North, longitude 75.0 West. The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the northeast near 21 mph (33 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue with an increase in forward speed tonght Maximum sustained winds are near 25 mph (35 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast tonight. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1012 mb (29.89 inches). RAINFALL: Post-Tropical Cyclone Chantal will continue to produce heavy rainfall across portions of the Delmarva, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania into this evening.
