AT 500 PM AST...2100Z...THE CENTER OF WEAKENING TROPICAL DEPRESSION
KAREN WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 17.3 NORTH...LONGITUDE 54.3 WEST OR
ABOUT 495 MILES...795 KM...EAST OF THE LEEWARD ISLANDS.

THE DEPRESSION IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 9 MPH...15 KM/HR.
THIS MOTION SHOULD CONTINUE UNTIL DISSIPATION LATER TONIGHT.

THE DEPRESSION IS RAPIDLY BECOMING A BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE BUT
STILL HAS WINDS NEAR 35 MPH...55 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER GUSTS IN A FEW
SQUALLS WELL REMOVED AND EAST OF THE CENTER. ADDITIONAL WEAKENING
IS EXPECTED TONIGHT BUT KAREN WILL BE CLOSELY MONITORED FOR SIGNS
OF REDEVELOPMENT.
