DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 500 PM AST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Nine was located near latitude 15.2 North, longitude 44.6 West. The depression is moving toward the northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h). A general northwestward to north-northwestward motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the depression could become a remnant low by Friday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1009 mb (29.80 inches).
