DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Nine
was located near latitude 15.8 North, longitude 45.1 West. The
depression is moving toward the northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h). A
general northwestward motion is expected to continue for the next
couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 12 to 24
hours, but the depression should weaken to a remnant low by
Friday.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb (29.77 inches).
