DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 500 PM AST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Nine was
located near latitude 16.5 North, longitude 44.8 West. The
depression is moving toward the north near 7 mph (11 km/h). A turn
toward the north-northwest is forecast tonight, followed by a turn
to the northwest on Friday, and a turn toward the west-northwest
on Saturday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours,
however, the depression is forecast to become a remnant low by
Friday night.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
