DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ida was
located near latitude 15.8 North, longitude 42.4 West. Ida is
moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph (24 km/h), and this
general motion with some decrease in forward speed is expected to
continue for the next day or so. A turn toward the northwest with a
significant decrease in forward speed is expected on Monday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast through Sunday, but some
strengthening possible on Monday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 125 miles (205 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
