At 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Ida was
located near latitude 24.8 North, longitude 48.4 West. The
depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 6 mph (9 km/h).
A turn toward the west-southwest and an increase in forward speed
are expected later today.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher
gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48
hours.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
