DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Fiona was
located near latitude 18.7 North, longitude 45.5 West. Fiona is
moving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h). A
west-northwestward motion with a slight increase in forward speed
is expected during the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Fiona is
expected to become a tropical depression over the weekend.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km)
to the northwest of the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
