At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Gaston was
located near latitude 29.6 North, longitude 54.2 West. Gaston is
moving toward the northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h). Gaston should
slow down during the next day or so, with a turn toward the north
forecast on Monday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 85 mph (140 km/h)
with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next
48 hours.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 15 miles (30 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles
(220 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 980 mb (28.94 inches).
