At 500 PM AST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ian was
located near latitude 27.0 North, longitude 52.7 West. Ian is
moving toward the north-northwest near 16 mph (26 km/h), and a turn
toward the north and north-northeast with an increase in forward
speed is expected over the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher
gusts. Some slight strengthening is possible during the next couple
of days.


Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 230 miles (370 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
