At 500 PM AST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Karl was
located near latitude 18.8 North, longitude 35.6 West. Karl is
moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h) and this general
motion is expected for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher
gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48
hours.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 230 miles (370 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
