At 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Karl was
located near latitude 18.0 North, longitude 43.4 West. Karl is
moving toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h). A westward to
west-northwestward motion with some increase in forward speed is
expected during the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Karl is forecast to begin strengthening later tonight or on Monday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 175 miles (280 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
