DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Lee was located near latitude 31.9 North, longitude 50.1 West. Lee is drifting toward the south-southeast near 1 mph (2 km/h). A gradual turn toward the southwest is expected over the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours and Lee could become a hurricane on Sunday. Lee is a small tropical storm. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
