DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Lee was located near latitude 36.3 North, longitude 54.6 West. Lee is moving toward the northeast near 22 mph (35 km/h), and this general motion is forecast to continue with an increase in forward speed until Lee dissipates Saturday night. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 80 mph (130 km/h) with higher gusts. Additional weakening is forecast, and Lee is expected to become a tropical storm on Friday, then dissipate Saturday night. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km).
