DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 500 PM EDT (2100 UTC), the remnants of Philippe were located near latitude 31.0 North, longitude 75.0 West. The remnants of Philippe have merged with a frontal system and are moving toward the north-northeast near 46 mph (74 km/h). Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 230 miles (370 km) from the center. Nearby NOAA buoy 41002 recently reported a sustained wind of 43 mph (69 km/h) and a gust to 54 mph (87 km/h). The estimated minimum central pressure is 991 mb (29.27 inches) based on data from NOAA buoy 41002. HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
